Bio:

If there is an underlying trait in all good music, it must be its ability to crush boundaries between genres, dancefloors and couches, twelve inches and YouTube clips. Enter Moullinex, Lisbon and Munich-based Luis Clara Gomes. Originally from a small countryside town in Portugal, he was surrounded by music and musicians during childhood and since an early age has been solely dedicated to the pursuit of his own sound, refusing to adhere to a specific genre or scene, but taking comfort in disco and house as a starting point. That being said, if there is a common trait between his productions, it must be the careful craft of melodies, a strong degree of human touch in machine- based music, unpretentious synthesizers, desperate guitars, striking basslines, and beats reminiscing from a not so distant dancefloor past. Luis often collaborates with friends - in fact, most of the electric bass you’ll hear in his productions is responsability of renaissance man Luis Calçada (yes, another Luis), and the guitars are crafted by Bruno Cardoso, the creative force more commonly known as Xinobi.

While Luis has seen his work has received the acclaim of his peers, press and fans worldwide, with remixes for Cut Copy, Sebastien Tellier, Two Door Cinema Club (the list goes on and on...) and collaborating with Peaches for a disco-tastic rework of the classic track Maniac, he managed to find time to co-found the Discotexas imprint, together with Xinobi, now responsible for a flawless release catalog, along with a residency in one of the most sought-after clubs in Europe - Lux, Lisbon. Started in 2012, The Discotexas Band is label’s very own in-house band, reminiscent of old Soul & R&B bands from the Motown era, where Moullinex, Xinobi & Da Chick perform the label’s tracks along with their own.

If you think this is too much, wait: there’s more: the music videos for Moullinex are responsability of Luis Clara Gomes and Luis Calçada. They have been praised everywhere, for use of ground-breaking technology and creativity.

O Manipulador

Bio:

It all started in 2010 in Portugal, when Manuel Molarinho decided to create a totally independent solo musical project. In studio, it's an experimental one man band using bass, pedals, loop station and vocals. Musically, it's the expression of an identity influenced by several alternative rock bands and do It yourself ethics. Manuel does all the recording, mixing, production and mastering.

In 2011, the first album,"Boxing", was digitally released in June and the song "i know (short version) was selected to the compilation "Novos Talentos Fnac 2011".

In 2012, the second album, "Chess" was digitally release in October. 

Live, O Manipulador often becomes a duo. The music is illustrated by Eduardos Cunha's video projections that involve video mapping concepts (such as projecting on unconventional surfaces). The goal is to give the music a possible visual translation and this way transforming the show in a wider sensory experience.

The project was born in Lisbon, where they formed friendship since 1997, but is now divided between this city (where Eduardo's living) and Arouca (where Manuel's living).

"The thrive to share experiences- in a studio and on stage- was always in the core of music creation. When you combine the individual experience with the common goal, you get more than the sum of all parts, you have ORELHA NEGRA. Unique bunch of “characters” that bring their talent and knowledge of music to another level compose this Project. For whom it might concern we have Cruz (DJ/ Scratches), Ferrano (Drums), Gomes Prodigy (Keyboards, Synths), Mira Professional, (Voice Sampler/MPC, Synths) and Rebelo Jazz Bass (Bass guitar, Rhythm Guitar). Orelha Negra uses the sleeve cover technique (sleeveface.com) as a way to bring up the image of a collective enhancing the core and prominence of this project, which is their music. A MPC, a pair of Technics turntables, Drums, Keybords, Bass and Rhythm guitar. United becomes living tissue that emanates groove beats, samples, loops and a sound of their own. From Oporto, Portugal, A Beta Movement moved into a trio with the addition of Marcela Freitas, the new lead vocals combines a delicate and stiff interpretation, spreading her sensuality to the digital indie songs mixture. La La La Ressonance

Bio:

Originally known as The Astonishing Urbana Fall (TAUF), the band changed its name in 2005 but maintained all of its members. La la la ressonance rethink experimentalism and improvisation, which were pillars of TAUF’s creative personality, thus preserving its post-rock platform. Strangely enough, one project can be seen as the “negative” of the other. While TAUF revealed an experiential character in its long hypnotic and improvisational progressions, La la la ressonance add a dose of formalism, abstraction and irony, composed of laconic bits and pieces. TAUF come to an end after a ten-years career mostly dedicated to live performances - only 3 EP’s were released. La la la ressonance emerge on the scene with their first album - 'Palisade' (2006). In October 2009, the band releases the second album "Outdoor", supported by Honeysound and distributed by Compact Records. In April 2012, PAD releases their third album 'Faust'.

The Partisan Seed

Bio:

Filipe Miranda was the lead singer of the extinct Kafka. In 2005 started solo with The Partisan Seed, presenting a free composition style, pure songwriting of personal and non-compromised inspiration. Putting the emphasis in the lyric’s messages, that live between love and melancholy, The Partisan Seed reveals a profound self-portrait of the composer, through a flux of introspective and sincere songs. His first album 'Visions Of Solitary Branches' was released by Transporte in 2006. The second, 'Indian Summer', was released by the same label in November 2008. In 2010, Honeysound released the special edition of 'Clay For The Working Hands'. May 2012 brings a brand new full length album titled 'SpiritWalking'.

Primal Attack

The year of 2012 witnessed the rising of Primal Attack, band originally formed by guitarist Miguel Tereso with Pica (Seven Stitches) on vocals. After a few demos recorded they decided to go ahead with the project, and soon the bassist Miguel Miranda and guitarist Tiago Câmara (Spoiled Fiction) joined the boat. Some months later the band found the missing drummer Miguel Ferreira completing the final lineup. Primal Attack is preparing the debut album for the second half of the year.

David loves cats. He’s got three at home and they keep him company when he’s by himself. he's one of Portugal best kept secrets, an amazing musician and performer leading an amazing career. After the huge success of his previous band (silence 4), achieving multi-platinum in 2 years, he pursued a solo career that keeps dazzling his audience with fresh sounds and unique performances. Achieving the difficult combination of commercial success and critics praise, his first two albums ("Sing me something new" (2003) and "Our hearts will beat as one" (2005), launched him as an amazing singer-songwriter exploring dark subjects and different musical approaches for each track, leading his listeners to a complex and personal world.

His distinctive baritone voice and musical influences that vary from roy orbison to roxy music, aphex twin to b-52's, jeff buckley to ryan adams, transform his albums into a strong and unusual mix supported by his multi-instrumentalist skills and close-to-the-heart lyrics.

After achieving gold status, various radio hits, a Vodafone campaign and a highly successful tours with his first 2 albums, he released "Dreams in colour" (2007). The album includes an amazing version of elton john 1972 classic "rocket man", an unexpected and pleasant surprise for everyone. the stunning one-take video directed by david (he directed all the videos for "dreams in colour") was a groundbreaking performance that shocked and appealed everyone who saw it.

On january 2008, Mtv chooses David Fonseca for artist of the month for the second time in his career and he starts to get some deserved attention outside his country.

"Dreams in colour" had an international release and was launched in Italy, Greece and Spain. David presented the album in showcases along with Gabriela Cilmi and One Republic in Italy and reached 1 in the Mtv-Greece chart, which led the music channel to invite him to play live in Athens along with bands like r.e.m and Kaiser Chiefs. He was also chosen to be the opening act for Keane in Spain.

A live dvd with a very special performance at the Lisbon coliseum was released during november 2008, a celebration of one of David's highest moments. A mix between cinema, theater and live music, the show got amazing reviews and received an award for "best show of the year".
